Proof of your desire is in the pursuit of it
Hello Queens & Kings. You've had some time to put the last two blogs into practice, if you haven't yet that's okay you can start now.
It took me a while to go through all my essential 2021 planning, whilst I wanted to be done sooner I enjoyed the process. What do I still have left? Creating a physical vision board(last year I did mine in Feb so I guess it's a tradition now), contacting accountability partners and using a technique I recently found on Ali Abdaal's video. The intentionality is not a matter, not the time period so if you haven't started do get started, if you're in progress -go one & if you're done great work. Whatever the case may be continuously try to review your goals; prune & nourish with actionable.
If you are handling varying heavy buckets of life like keeping up with your online studies and running a blog, youtube channel, business or self-imposed burdens. Things might have already started to be overwhelming.
Today however want to share with you 5 actions that can help you power your systems & goals, be selective and grow in 2021.
1. Create a Mission Statement
Think of your skills, values and goals to create a statement that will gauge your actions and also inspire you.
2.Use the SMART system
S-specific: Think of all aspects of your life: family, relationships, spiritual, physical, recreational, creative, educational and any other. Identify which you focus on improving, state what you think needs to be done to improve or seek help from advisors or coaches. Don't just have success as a goal. What exactly does success mean to you?
M-measurable: Find a way of tracking and examining whether or not you are doing the action.
A-attainable: focus on what actions you can take in the present and short term span. I for one will not be working on my goal to own a Benz this year. That'd be a waste of time and energy. Instead, I will focus on posting weekly or bi-weekly blog posts and working with brands.
R-relevant: work on things that fit your current social and financial conditions. For me, anything I plan will consider the fact that I am in school, still dependent on my parents and other details.
T-time based: Have a timeline in which you want to get it completed. With being time-based this could also mean that you will set a specific time to do an action or give it a time limit. For example, I want to listen to 15 minutes of a sermon daily.
3.Create a system for repetitive tasks
Aren't you just annoyed when every week or month you have to do new repetitive tasks?
What's your solution?
(i) Templates
(ii) Checklists: You've got a test this week, what tasks do you need to go through before the day. Do you need to practice questions, join study groups, whatever it is that you do regularly have a checklist for it so you don't have to scramble? I recently created a checklist for my blog posts, so you see this can be used in any arena.
(ii) Calendars with the inserts of the things required for you to complete either weekly, monthly or yearly.
4.Write a letter to your future self
How do you want your December 31 2021 self to feel? What do you want her/he to have accomplished? What do you want to reassure yourself? What encouragement do you want to give? StylebyKye offers a great template here.
5.Vision Boarding
I just have one verse for you:
"Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end, it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." Habakkuk 2:2
Create the vision in a visual form: digital or physical and place it somewhere visible. Trust me on this one, it will make you run for what you desire.
Thanks for stopping by.
Never Stop Curating your best life
