REFLECTION

Hey Queens & Kings
On Saturday morning, I woke up caught my self reflecting. I realized that I was already slacking off on attaining some of my goals. There were no yoga sessions with Adrienne on Youtube for at least 3 times a week nor was there healthy homemade lunch for at least 3 times a week, minimal progress on my 'special projects' and so on and so forth and I was going back into old habits like spending too much time on IG. On the other hand, I was making progress with my school work and my weekly gym visits.
What's the prescription for my ailment?
-BALANCE & DISCIPLINE
Balance, as it relates to goals, is the act of creating a system where progress is being made in all areas of your life that you desire (maybe not all... but most). I was not balancing my goals and the neglecting of the other goals is what's tricking my brain into taking more than necessary breaks.
Discipline is the trait that keeps balance in check and makes your progress consistent. I for sure need discipline. Are you disciplined? Discipline to do what needs to be done at the correct time. It is hard but attainable.
What needs to be done to rectify the issue?
1. Planning- conscious allocation of what needs to be done to particular time periods. This can be done with either pen & paper or in your mind. I'm an advocate for pen & paper though, I even own a journal but I'm still trying to be consistent with the usage. Schedule the most important things first and give your self enough time to complete them.
2. Identify time wasters & deal with them accordingly. If you need to desist them then do that, if not then schedule time periods for them. I will be scheduling time periods for when I use IG.
3. Remind yourself of the 'why'. When you get discouraged or feel like being lazy remind your self of the reason you wanted to accomplish your goal. Remind yourself of how you wan to feel.
4. Last but not the least, as Nike would say: Just Do It!
These is the steps I will be taking these upcoming weeks.
Ps: Don't stress, the past week has been a very busy one yet my least stressed out one. This was because I had the mindset of: after doing my preparations "I'll just do my best and leave it to God". Most times we tend to stress about temporary situations and end up draining ourselves, I left no space for worry to linger in my mind, so should you.
Thank You for reading.
