Welcome, Queens & Kings to a new blog! Do you know what's better than a new blog post? A new blog series, well the first blog series in this case.
In this blog post, we will be embarking on the first of 7 blog series. This series, You-ni will be focused on preparing College and University students, some of who will be doing their fall semester online due to COVID-19 circumstances. It is called 'YOU-ni' well because it's a pun for the abbreviation 'Uni" but also because its season of your life is really about you, your learning is in your hands and so is how you care for yourself and so is everything else, you have to step out of your comfort zone, pick from these advises which will better your life the most.

I know my loving readers aren't all students but they sure are life long learners- if you take a close look at the series, you will find a lesson that can help you in general life also. Some students might be feeling anxious, nervous or uncertain about the new semester and their start into a whole new lifestyle, this series is here to ease your pain, make you aware of things you did not take into consideration and to better equip you to take on the higher institution.
Tips and tricks for improving learning in post-secondary will be offered. A part of curating your best life is taking charge of unexpected situations, resetting, rediscovering yourself and doing your very best with what you have. This series will remind you of the positives about this situation, offer you mindset tips, organization tips, tips on creating the right environment, mental care, tips on socialising with classmates, technological aids and general advice.
This series includes a GIVEAWAY! Do Good Paper Company has been so kind as to sponsor the first giveaway on this blog. 'Do Good Paper Co.' is an ethical Canadian independent stationery company that sells beautifully designed paper products, stickers, washi tapes and subscription boxes. They produce tools that are not mere stationery but tools that can aid greatly in the process of self-improvement.

It will include a Bullet Journal perfect for releasing your thoughts & creating art, a set of 3 notepads like Notebooks and a beautifully designed large spiral Notebook.
Additionally, I will be giving away another Do Good Paper product to another participant in the giveaway. At the end of the series; you would be told what you need to do to enter the giveaway contest. To pick & announce the winners, we will be doing an IG live on a date that will be announced at the end of the series.
THE POSITIVES
Now on to the positives of doing university online and at home. The importance of this is to demonstrate the habit of looking for the good in dire situations and to cultivate a positive point of view, which is critical for taking care of your mind.

- If it isn't obvious already, it will be way cheaper! Someone once told me that university is the best business there is in the world. I must agree with the person; you pay ridiculously high prices for getting an education; whatever the case may be, for some it is worth it but it doesn't make the payment easier. Some individuals have to take loans to pay off these fees which have early deadlines. Thanks to COVID (i know we kind of hate it but let's be grateful for once lol) these fees will be subsidised.
- No freshmen 15 for you. It is a well-told tale that when you enter university or college, students tend to gain 15 pounds in the early weeks. Since we won't be going, we won't be getting it.
- You have a more flexible school timetable- you can work when you want to and in your own comfort. I know this does not go for all individuals but for those you have acquired discipline in studying on their own, this is a great benefit.
- You'll have no negative peer pressure to be someone else than yourself.
- You will build independence and self-reliance. The effort you put in, the implementation of self-discipline, use of values to guide actions will all help you build independence and self-reliance which is necessary for adulthood and the future.
- You will have the chance to about what best techniques work for you and implement it faster. This is because you won't have as many distractions or noise as you would on campus. Hence you can be more aware of yourself, your habits, strengths and weaknesses. You would know these earlier than you would if you were on campus, you can use these to maximize your productivity and success.
I have listed a few, have you thought of any positives that I have not mentioned above? Feel free to drop them in the comment section below.
That is all for today. Stay tuned for the next blog, next-tomorrow, where we will go into more in-depth tips.
Thanks for stopping by.
Never stop Curating your best life.
